Drag Race UK vs The World fans gagged as Jade Thirlwall makes ‘shady’ Little Mix ‘dig’

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall appears as a guest judge on Drag Race UK vs The World

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall had Drag Race UK vs The World fans screaming after she appeared to throw shade at former bandmate Jesy Nelson.

The 29-year-old singer appeared as a guest judge on the semi-finals of the hit BBC Three series, which saw the five remaining queens form a mega girl group.

Jade was on hand to help the contestants as they recorded their individual verses for RuPaul’s latest track, “London”, before performing them to Mama Ru and judges Graham Norton and Michelle Visage.

Turning to Jade on the panel, RuPaul asked: ‘How did recording with the queens compare to recording with Little Mix?’

“Oh, it’s just the same really,” Jade replied. “I bossed everyone around and there’s an ugly rumour going around that one of the girls is leaving the group tonight.”

RuPaul and Michelle gasped in shock over Jade’s wisecrack before bursting into laughter over the delightfully shady quip.

Though the”Sweet Melody” hitmaker didn’t actually name her former bandmate, many viewers instantly interpreted her comment to be a reference to Jesy Nelson’s Little Mix exit.

“Jade throwing shade at Jesy. I. AM …. LIVING,” another stated, while one fan wrote: “Jade shading Jesy best part of drag race so far.”

“Jade. Thirlwall you naughty, naughty girl ? #DragRaceUK,” another wrote in reaction.

“Jade throwing shade at Jesy. I. AM… LIVING,” one fan wrote, while another added: “Audibly gasped at jade throwing immense shade at Jesy”.

Jesy Nelson left fans devastated in December 2020 when she announced her decision to leave Little Mix for mental health reasons.

Since her exit relations between Jesy and her former bandmates appear to be frosty, with Nelson famously watching on during an Instagram Live as collaborator Nicki Minaj tore into Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

The remaining members of Little Mix have since announced they will take a hiatus to pursue individual projects.

However, the band will head out on their first UK tour as a threesome this year, with arena dates planned across the country.
