RuPaul’s Drag Race icon Katya Zamolodchikova has revealed she is in hospital, after sharing a photo hooked up to machines.
On Wednesday (29 April), she posted a photo to her X account, saying: “Girl I’m in body jail,” adding the hashtag “hell on Earth”.
In the photo, Katya – real name Brian McCook – could be seen lying on a hospital bed in a blue gown, with tubes hooked up to her nose. She posed with a thumb up.
Over the top of the image, the TV drag queen wrote: “Body jail.”
While she did not elaborate on what she was going through, she wrote a separate post after which read: “Everyone gets sick. (Almost) everybody gets old. And every one dies.”
‘Escape the body prison now!’
Fans have been sending positive thoughts to Katya in the replies – well, in the way Drag Race fans do, at least.
One said: “Don’t die b**** we need you.” Another commented: “What organs do you need? I WILL find them.”
A third said: “Katya no. Escape the body prison now!” Someone else wrote: “Brian what is this! Don’t you dare!”
Of course, others were slightly less extreme. One said: “Oh no! Hope you get better really soon.” Another added: “Oh no! Sending lots of love and positive recovery vibes.”
