Olivia Rodrigo’s Y2K-inspired butterfly clips that she wore to the Met Gala are finally on sale

Olivia Rodrigo's Y2K butterfly clips from the Met Gala are available to buy.

Fans can buy Olivia Rodrigo’s Y2K butterfly clips that she wore at this year’s Met Gala.

The “Good 4 U” singer repped the noughties throwback on the red carpet earlier this year and gave fans all the nostalgia with her look.

The life-size butterfly clips were created especially for the event by luxury headpiece designer, Jennifer Behr and iconic fashion designer, Betsey Johnson.

And now fans can finally get the elevated version of the Y2K butterfly clips, as the collaborators are releasing a collection.

The two-piece capsule collection features Rodrigo’s look-alike butterfly hair pin, named the Gala Bobby Pin and a smaller version named the Gabby Bobby Pin.

They’re now available to pre-order from jenniferbehr.com.

The Gala Bobby Pin looks straight off the Met Gala red carpet and it’s printed silk organza with Swarovski crystal accents.

While the Gabby Bobby Pin features a hand-painted lilac butterfly on a silver bobby pin, so you can create a noughties-inspired look.

Behr told NYLON: “Over time it was like the butterflies in our collections signaled the start of something.

“They symbolize a sense of renewal and rebirth. Butterfly clips were such a trend in the ’90s and it’s fun to see them reimagined for today.”

Johnson adds: “They symbolize a sense of renewal and rebirth. Butterfly clips were such a trend in the ’90s and it’s fun to see them reimagined for today.”

At this year’s Met Gala, Olivia Rodrigo paired the butterfly clips with a glittery, purple gown from Versace, alongside matching shoes and eye makeup and purple gloves.

After attending the Met Gala, the singer posted pictures from the infamous red carpet alongside the caption: “the best night at the met!”.

One fan commented, “my butterfly”, while another wrote “your style is the best just like you”.

Well now fans can copy her exact style as the Y2K butterfly clips are available to pre-order.

Fans can get their hands on the Gala Bobby Pin from jenniferbehr.com, while a second named the Gabby Bobby Pin is available from jenniferbehr.com.

You can also get handmade, unique butterfly clips from Etsy that are less than £10. There’s thousands to choose from that look like real-life butterflies, Y2K versions and purple ones that are similar to Olivia Rodrigo’s.

Olivia Rodrigo reveals her favourite Glossier products

Earlier this year it was announced that Olivia Rodrigo would be teaming up with beauty brand Glossier for their first ever celebrity collaboration.

It marks the first time the popular brand have collaborated with a famous face since its launch in 2014 and was kicked off with the ‘You Look Good’ campaign.

One of her favourite products from the brand is her go-to liquid eyeliner, Pro Tip, to help achieve her signature cat eye look.

“Winged eyeliner is my favorite thing in the world. I think I’m getting better at my winged eyeliner game too. I just try to do it every day and statistically, I have to have improved at least a little,” she says.

Some of her other favourites include Boy Brow, for fluffy, natural-looking brows in seconds and Ultralip, a buildable lip colour.

They’re available to buy as a three-piece set from glossier.com.
