Jurassic World: Rebirth has got a brand new trailer, with Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson at the heart of it: as well as the terrifying Distortus Rex and the “mutadons”: a velociraptor/pterosaur hybrid.
The film, a follow on from 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion, also stars Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
In the trailer, Bailey’s character, paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, outlines the stakes at play. “If we get this DNA, millions of lives are saved,” he says. Be still our beating hearts.
As it turns out, the DNA of three of the “most colossal” dinosaurs left in an old Jurassic Park research facility could hold all sorts of benefits for mankind.
Johansson’s covert ops expert, Zora Bennett, ominously warns “only the worse ones” were left behind in regards to the experiments conducted in the past
And as Loomis and Zora try to extract some DNA from one of the mutadons’ giant eggs, the mother mutadon arrives and she isn’t happy, to say the least.

What results is a tense looking sequence that sees the Wicked and Black Widow stars throw themselves around to evade the dangerous beast.
“We put ourselves into a place where we don’t belong,” Loomis then says. “Survival is a long shot,” he adds gravely.
Another shot appears to show Loomis standing with his back turned as a giant dinosaur, the mutated Distortus Rex, approaches. They also face a dramatic maritime disaster when they track down the huge aquatic Mosasaurus… or rather, it finds them.
The trailer immediately whipped up a frenzy with viewers showering praise on director Gareth Edwards.
“I feel like a kid again,” write one viewer. Another said: “NOW THATS A JURASSIC TRAILER!!!! while someone else added: “This looks so good it has that old Jurassic park feel as well.”
Fans were similarly inflamed after the first trailer dropped in February, but for slightly different reasons.
The initial teaser showed a stern-looking Jonathan Bailey standing still in the jungle, decked out in a tartan shirt, grimy beige vest jacket, with a backpack swung around his shoulder, and everyone was very thirsty for his sexy steel-framed glasses.
“I don’t think I’m mentally prepared to watch Jonathan Bailey be attractive in another role soon after Wicked. I have yet to stop spiraling since November,” wrote one person on X/Twitter.
“This nerdy look is so perfect omg,” declared a second fan.
A synopsis for the film reads: “Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
“Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived.
“The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
Jurassic World Rebirth is out on 2 July 2025.
