And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker has teased fans with an update on a possible third Hocus Pocus film.

The Sex and the City actress starred as Sarah Sanderson in the first Hocus Pocus in 1993. It also featured Bette Midler and Kathy Najim, who played the other two Sanderson sisters, Winifred and Mary.

A second film aired on Disney+ in 2022 with all three women reprising their roles.

Since then, news of the possibility of another outing has come in dribs and drabs, with the sense that something has been brewing like a cauldron on low heat.

And Parker added fuel to the fire in a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen! Joining the host on the After Show segment, she was asked about a potential third film, following comments made in 2012 by the then president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, Sean Bailey.

“[There are] no more developments other than we would like to do it,” she said. But then added: “We’ve been having some conversations.”

Last year, Beaches star Midler told the talk show Busy This Week: “I haven’t seen the script but I’ve heard rumblings.”

She went on to joke: “If they’re gonna [do it], they oughta because time is not just marching, time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing.”

The first film focused on the resurrection of the bewitching sisters in modern-day Salem on Halloween night. They returned, looking for revenge, in the sequel.

Although ultimately defeated again, a post-credit scene revealed the existence of a third black-flame candle, the device needed to resurrect witches.

Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2 are streaming on Disney+ now.
