Model Alex Consani has shared an image of her father wearing a Protect the Dolls t-shirt while she was supporting her at the Vogue World: Hollywood 2025 show.

Taking place on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles on Sunday (26 October), the event showcased the relationship between fashion and film with stars such as Angela Bassett and Hunter Schafer joining Consani to show off looks inspired by classic movies.

During the show’s Summer of Love segment, Consani walked the makeshift runway in an outfit inspired by Orlando, which starred Tilda Swinton, Quentin Crisp and Jimmy Somerville.

Consani’s outfit, an off-white blouse with ruffled sleeves, a leather corset, teal and white bloomers, and a cape, was designed by Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele and based on Sandy Powell’s original costumes for the 1992 film. The trans model was joined in this section by Schafer.

The t-shirt design was debuted by designer Conner Ives at London Fashion Week in February. The word “dolls” is often used by trans women to affirm their femininity, a usage that originated in 80s ballroom culture.

Due to high demand, the t-shirt was put on sale, with proceeds going to Trans Lifeline, a peer support and crisis hotline offering help to trans people in the US and Canada.

Last month, Ives said that sales of the t-shirt, which has been worn by the likes of Pedro Pascal and Madonna, had raised more than $600,000 (approximately £450,000). As well as Trans Lifeline, money will given to transgender people across the US through via micro grants.
