Netflix announces Emily in Paris to end with season 6

Put down your pain au chocolat: the hit Netflix show Emily in Parisis ending after its sixth season.

Production for season six has officially begun, with the streamer releasing images of star Lily Collins posing in Greece. 

Collins plays Chicago marketing executive Emily Cooper as she navigates the pitfalls of work, romance, friendship and fashion in Paris.

The romance comedy-drama is set to shoot in Greece, Monaco and Paris – it’s a jet-setting finale for Emily!

“After six unforgettable years, I’m here to share that this upcoming sixth season will be our final,” Collins shared.

“Season six will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime.

“I can’t wait for all the magic ahead and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet! I’m so incredibly grateful.” 

Last season, Emily was swept off her feet in Rome by an Italian cashmere heir, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). However, though Rome was beguiling, her heart belongs to Paris.

Also in season five, Emily’s best friend, Mindy (Ashley Park), got engaged to fashion designer Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman). But she can’t deny the spark that she shared with Englishman Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) that won’t go away. 

Additionally, Agence Grateau – the ad agency run by Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) that Emily works for – is in financial trouble.

With all this to wrap up, writer, creator, and executive producer Darren Star is ensuring the show goes out with a bang. 

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime,” Star shared.

“As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us,” he also said.

“We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!” 

Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Julien (Samuel Arnold), Luc (Bruno Gouery), Antoine (William Abadie) are also set to return.

Emily in Paris is streaming now on Netflix.
