Meet Elliot Page’s girlfriend, Overcompensating star Julia Shiplett

Elliot Page stepped out this week with girlfriend Julia Shiplett on his arm at the New York premiere of his new film, The Odyssey.

Page, who was previously married to dancer and choreographer Emma Portner from 2018 to 2021, went public with Shiplett in June 2025, before making their red carpet debut as a couple in September that year.

The duo posed for photos at the New York premiere of The Odyssey on 14 July. In the film, Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic of the same name, Page plays Sinon. Sinon is a Reek soldier and the cousin of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon.

Page has also had a number of other standout roles, including in films like Inception and Juno and as Kitty Pride in the X-Men movie franchise, as well as in Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.

He came out as transgender in December 2020, and is now one of the most well-known trans stars.

Julia Shiplett, who is bisexual, is an actor, writer and comedian.

She is best known for playing Mimi in Benito Skinner’s Prime Video series Overcompensating, which recently finished filming for its second season. It was previously confirmed Shiplett would be back for season two, alongside other recurring or guest stars such as Connie Britton, Lukas Gage and Kyle MacLachlan.

Shiplett also has credits for American Dad!, Happiness for Beginners, Love Life and Crashing, among others.

Aside from acting, Shiplett is a comedian, having done a lot of stand-up work in the past.

Before entering comedy and acting, she was a senior copywriter and creative, working with a number of big clients.

When did Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett start dating?

The couple went public in June 2025, with Elliot Page sharing a photo of them with a rainbow and heart emoji over it.

It marked Page’s first public relationship since coming out as trans.

Since, the couple have been seen at a number of red carpet events, including at Milan Fashion Week.

Shiplett also paid tribute to Page on his birthday on Instagram, writing: “Happy birthday E baby! How lucky I am to have such a sweet, patient, supportive boo thang who always wants to order fries. You’ve cracked my lil crone heart open and celebrating you is a breeze.”
