Brittany Snow has paid an emotional tribute to Hayden Panettiere, who died aged 36 on 16 August, remembering the actress she played opposite as an on-screen sister early in both their careers.
Snow, 40, shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the pair from the CBS soap Guiding Light, where the two appeared together as young actresses. In the image, Snow cradles Panettiere, who kisses her on the cheek.
“I was lucky enough to play your sister for three years,” Snow wrote. “I related to you so much in so many ways. Ways that I never even told you. Your talent was remarkable and so was your determination to be a bold, bright shining light. And you were.”
She added: “Always supportive, curious, funny and brave. You will always be remembered undoubtedly for your undeniable strength and spirit.”

Snow was among many stars who paid tribute following Panettiere’s death at the age of 36. The Heroes and Nashville actress was found unresponsive at her home in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday (16 August).
Her Nashville co-star Connie Britton said she had “no words”, hailing Panettiere as “bursting with brilliance”, while Viola Davis remembered her as “an old, wise soul with such a deep heart”.
Panettiere, who began acting as a child, had spoken candidly about her struggles with addiction and mental health. Her cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.
