Dominic Fike seems to confirm Hunter Schafer relationship is back on

Dominic Fike has seemingly given fans their biggest hint yet that he and Hunter Schafer may have rekindled their romance.
During a recent show, Fike introduced his song ‘Great Pretender’ by saying he wrote it about his “girlfriend”, before adding: “I used to not be able to say that.”
That little addition has sent the internet into frenzied speculation, particularly because fans have long associated the song with Schafer, and the former couple have reportedly been spending time together again.
The moment was captured by TikTok user fikelsg from Fike’s concert while he was interacting with the crowd before playing ‘Great Pretender’. Fike did not name the woman he was referring to, meaning there is still no direct confirmation that he was talking about Schafer, although users in the comments quickly theorised he had to be talking about Schafer.
Schafer was also spotted at Fike’s 27 August concert at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, with reports subsequently placing the pair together in Chicago. They were then reportedly seen together again in Seattle around one of Fike’s performances.
The sightings also come after Fike spoke about his approach to former relationships in an interview with Genius earlier this year, saying he doesn’t really “move on” from people he has dated and suggesting he would be open to trying again with an ex. He did not identify Schafer when making those comments, but fans have naturally revisited them following his latest “girlfriend” remark.
Fike and Schafer met in early 2021 while filming the second season of Euphoria, where Fike played Elliot, and Schafer played Jules. The two began dating in 2022 and publicly acknowledged their relationship before splitting in 2023.
Schafer later opened up about being cheated on during a 2024 appearance on Call Her Daddy, saying that being cheated on was part of the reason their relationship ended. She described their eventual separation as a mutual “clean parting”.
Now, more than three years after they first got together, fans are wondering whether the former couple has quietly found their way back to each other.
For now, though, it remains just speculation. Fike hasn’t named Schafer as the “girlfriend” he was referring to, and neither star has publicly confirmed that they are dating again.
But considering the recent sightings, the concert footage and Fike’s very carefully worded “I used to not be able to say that” comment, fans certainly have plenty to talk about.
