Lady Gaga has reportedly welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky after paparazzi photos appeared to show the couple walking in Northern California with Gaga carrying a baby.
Gaga, 40, and Polansky, 42, have not publicly spoken about the baby. The baby’s name, sex or gender, and date of birth have not been reported publicly.
The claims have circulated widely after sources were said to have confirmed the birth to People and Page Six. Gaga finished her latest tour, the Mayhem Ball, in April and has kept a low public profile since.
Given the surprise news about the arrival of baby Gaga, speculation has already begun on social media about the events of the birth, including questions as to whether a surrogate may have helped Gaga and Michael start their family. Gaga has previously spoken openly about her health struggles, including fibromyalgia.
Gaga has previously addressed pregnancy speculation. In 2024, she posted a TikTok video captioned: “not pregnant- just down bad crying at the gym”.
What’s been reported so far
Gaga has spoken publicly about wanting to become a mother. In a March 2025 interview with The New York Times, she said: “I’m excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it.”
She added: “The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”
In October 2025, during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Gaga said: “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
Gaga and Polansky were first linked in late 2019 and went Instagram official in February 2020.

Polansky is a tech entrepreneur and investor who has largely stayed out of the spotlight compared with Gaga. He is credited as a writer on Gaga’s 2025 Grammy-winning record Mayhem and on a song from The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack.
The Mayhem Ball was reported to have grossed $419.5 million and sold just under two million tickets, based on Billboard Boxscore figures.
