Zara Larsson slams White House deportation video for using her song: ‘You guys are f***ing losers’

Zara Larsson has criticised the White House for using her song, Midnight Sun, in a post featuring ICE arrests, calling the clip “so dehumanizing”.
The video, posted on Wednesday (16 September), shows ICE agents arresting and handcuffing people, with the caption: “Never ending deportations…✨”.
Larsson, 28, responded in a TikTok video, telling viewers: “I’m just sad. I’m just really sad. That really makes me sad to see that, genuinely. My heart’s heavy.”
“This video is so dehumanizing. These people in this video are real people.”
Larsson said she wished she could speak to whoever made the clip, adding: “The biggest difference between us is that we were dealt a different hand in life.”
She went on to describe feeling “lucky” to have been born in Sweden, clarifying that there are people out there who aren’t that lucky to access the opportunities she’s been given.

Larsson said she did not understand why being an undocumented immigrant was treated as “the worst thing in the world”, and described undocumented people as “regular people with jobs” trying to build a better future.
She ended the video with: “It’s just so f***ing uncool. It’s just giving… I don’t even know. Oh my gosh, you guys are such f***ing losers. It’s crazy.”
The song audio was later removed from the White House post, while the video itself remained visible on the account’s TikTok feed.
Larsson’s reaction video has so far already clocked up more than 5 million views on TikTok.
Pop stars push back on White House’s ICE soundtracks
Earlier in 2026, the White House used Larsson’s Lush Life in a video of President Donald Trump dancing with on-screen text including “WE LOVE ICE and our law enforcement!”.
Larsson responded with a post sharing her Instagram story response, which read: “I love immigrants, I love criminals, I love trans people, I love abortions, I love queers, I love slutty women, I love contraception, I love welfare, I love socialism, I f***ing hate ICE.”
The latest row follows a wider pattern of artists objecting to their music being used in immigration enforcement content.
In December 2025, SZA slammed the “evil” and “boring” White House for “rage-baiting” musicians after her song was used over a TikTok promoting ICE raids.
