Dolly Parton’s sister denies ‘family feud’ rumours over late star’s estate

Dolly Parton’s sister Freida Parton has publicly denied rumours of a “feud” in the family, amid reports of an escalating legal dispute connected to the late star’s estate and her nephew.
In a message shared on Instagram, the 69-year-old wrote: “I’ll say this and this only: there is no feud within our family,” adding: “No one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate.”
Freida also struck a warm note about her nephew, writing: “We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other. I love you all!!”
What is going on?
The comments come as Dolly’s longtime manager Danny Nozell, who managed her for more than 20 years, took out a temporary restraining order against her nephew Bryan Seaver, who had been her head of security until he was fired following her death.
In legal documents reviewed by TMZ, Nozell claimed Seaver demanded money and began “invoking his self-proclaimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence”.
Court documents allege Seaver said he would “ruin” his aunt’s brand partnerships unless he was paid.
Nozell reportedly requested that Seaver remain at least 1,000 feet from Parton’s office and not contact Parton’s businesses or affiliates.
Seaver, responding to the restraining order request, told the online publication: “I am a career soldier and military contractor and do conduct arms deals for foreign governments. I am a security professional and I am a killer.”
Who is Bryan Seaver?
Bryan Seaver is Dolly Parton’s nephew, son of her younger sister Cassie, and had been her head of security.
He was the person who announced Parton’s death on 25 August in a video shared on her Instagram page.
Seaver said his aunt had asked him to be the one to announce her death “years ago”. He said in the announcement: “It is an honour, an honour that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly.”
According to TMZ, in messages in the court documents, Seaver said: “I’m now the face of the biggest social media post in human history.”
