Big Brother 2025 contestant Zelah Glasson has announced he is engaged to his partner of five years, Francesca, after proposing at Canada’s Barrier Lake.
Glasson shared photos from the lakeside moment, including one shot of him down on one knee and another of the couple kissing after she said yes.
Alongside the images, he posted a lengthy caption reflecting on their relationship, opening with: “The things I’ll do for an Italian passport…”
He said the pair met five years ago “on a rugby social dressed as a laundry basket”, adding that he “instantly clicked with” Francesca. “At the time I thought I’d found a best friend,” he continued, saying he wanted to be around her constantly and felt she would be in his life forever.
Glasson also said he knew early on that she was the one. “Within a month of asking her out, I wrote a note in my phone saying ‘I’m going to marry this girl’.”
In a message addressed directly to Francesca, Glasson wrote: “Francesca, you have loved me as a woman; you have loved me through losing my dad; through surgery, hormones, multiple career changes and ridiculous side quests.”

He added: “You are everything I needed as a kid, and everything I want in a wife”.
What happened during Zelah’s time on Big Brother?
Glasson appeared on ITV’s Big Brother in 2025, and was introduced as a transgender personal trainer to viewers when the series launched.
During his time in the house he shared his identity with his housemates, and at times he did face transphobia, such as when co-star Caroline Monk misgendered him.
He also found himself at the centre of co-star Sam Ashby’s attention, with the duo hopping in bed together at one point.
Francesca publicly responded at the time, writing: “Zelah has not crossed any of our boundaries, so can well please chill.”
Glasson was the fifth to be evicted, on day 34.
