Big Brother crowd demands ‘recount’ as they drown out winner with boos
Rochelle beat Twinks in the Big Brother final (ITV)
Big Brother has crowned its winner for 2026 – and the live audience could not have been more unhappy for her.
In a tense finale, Rochelle Rackham emerged as the winner over second-place Twinks Burnett, to become the oldest female champ ever.
This is despite all of the offence she has caused within the house, making comments about co-stars’ weight, and allegedly sharing “racist” remarks which ITV refused to air, according to The Sun.
And while the British public voted her the winner (and let’s be honest, they can’t be trusted with much), the true winner of the night at the ITV live finale was Burnett.
‘Twinks should’ve won!’

Burnett, who is bisexual and has spoken frequently about LGBTQ+ issues and the importance of being a trans ally, left the house to a sea of deafening cheers, as the crowd also chanted: “Recount! Recount!”
As she spoke to hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu afterwards, the crowd also chanted: “Twinks should’ve won!”
The night turned into chaos when it was time for Rackham to leave the house, as she was greeted with a wall of boos.
Even throughout her exit interview, the crowd refused to dampen their boos, with Best pleading with the audience to be quiet.
“Guys, guys, guys, she can’t hear us speak! She can’t hear the questions,” he told the crowd, as Odudu said: “We’re gonna have to shout at you.”
‘Such a shame the public didn’t vote for love and kindness’

And it appears Rackham’s win didn’t go down well with some of her former co-stars either, with the likes of Millie Jarrett, Johanne Cade and Pauline Adeyemo refusing to applaud her from their seats.
In an Instagram video after the finale, Rackham, who also took home the £100,000 prize, thanked viewers for voting, saying: “I worked bloody hard in that house,” adding: “And it looks like I got the last word, because I’m the winner, winner, chicken dinner!”
People in the comments section were unimpressed, with one saying: “Twinks should have won.” Another said: “Just when I thought kindness would win… unfortunately not the case.” A third wrote: “I hate our country.” And someone else said: “Such a shame the public didn’t vote for love and kindness.”
