The official trailer for Behemoth! has dropped, and Pedro Pascal fans are buzzing with thirsty excitement over what they see.
The forthcoming music drama, written and directed by Tony Gilroy, stars the 51-year-old LGBTQ+ ally as talented musician Alex Serian.
The film synopsis reads: “A gifted cellist returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road.
“Music, which has been the constant, all-consuming river of his life, swells into an adventure that will change him forever.”
The trailer dropped on Thursday (29 October) and in under 24 hours racked up over 5million views.
In the teaser for the film, Pascal is seen as the lead, a man who goes between being a legendary cello player and moodily strolling LA streets.
Elsewhere, he throws himself into playing the instrument, winks mid-performance and makes out with Nadia (Sorry Baby’s Eva Victor).
The film also stars The Invite’s Olivia Wilde and BoJack Horseman’s Will Arnett.
‘I know we’re all thinking it…’

“Pedro going for the Oscar!” one comment on the trailer reads.
Another notes: “Finally Pedro Pascal in a lead role! It’s about time.”
There are many less tame remarks about the heartthrob. One moment that caught eyes in the trailer is Pascal emerging in a very low-tied towel.
“Genuine question…how the f*** am I supposed to survive watching two hours of him looking like THAT??” one fan wrote in response to the trailer.
“Alex Serian…” another commented with the melting face emoji. The caption is paired with a gif of Pascal in the aforementioned low-tied towel.
“I know we’re all thinking it,” a fan also wrote with a gif of Pascal vibrating his fingers over the cello strings… no comment.
Behemoth! currently holds 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, with 49 critic reviews.
The Guardian‘s review gave the film two stars, writing: “Pedro Pascal classical music drama hits all the wrong notes.”
They added that Behemoth! is “Tár for straight men.”
Variety’s review praises Pascal’s commitment to the role, including that he learnt to play cello.
“That’s really Pascal doing it, which is why everything about his motions looks real, from the vibrato to the bowing to the way he moves his head. That devotion works for the film.”
They continue: “With an elegant mustache and perfect gelled hair that dips down onto his forehead, Pedro Pascal has never looked more dashing — he’s like a refined Burt Reynolds, or maybe a passive Brando.”
Behemoth! is in UK cinemas from December 4.
