It’s not just Nicki Minaj‘s Republican opinions that are causing a stir, but also her recent styling and glam.
Minaj has disappointed much of her LGBTQ+ fanbase since standing with President Donald Trump. Former fans are now speculating that the 43-year-old rapper may have also lost her glam team because of her political alignment.
At a recent rally, Minaj reportedly wore a Gucci set with matching pumps. But it’s some of the look’s accessories and styling that have people talking.
Alongside the Gucci garments, Minaj is wearing blue contact lenses, pink press-on nails and a half-up, half-down hairstyle.
Some former Barbz commented that her previous queer glam team must have departed, as Huffington Post reported.
“Def did her own glam. I know she sick no one will work with her so she had to try her best attempt at an updo?” one commenter wrote.
“Maybe a half up half down? No one can be sure but we saw the Getty. Her best hair looks were done by either a black gay man or a black trans woman.”

Another also added: “Embarrassing press-on nails. Blue contact lenses. Terrible wig. Bad skin.”
“This current Nicki era is giving ‘I no longer have access to the Gays or the Theys,’” another remarked on Minaj’s look.
At the recent Michigan rally, Minaj joined Trump on stage, where he told the audience he’d been looking at her “beautiful a**”, saying: “That’s hard to miss.”
There, she continued on her apparent crusade against care for trans minors.
She told the audience: “We don’t want our children to be bombarded with sex changes, right? We don’t want that for our children. We want people to leave the children alone. Leave them out of it.”
This isn’t her first time speaking out on the issue, with her previously making it clear she disagrees with children accessing gender-affirming surgeries. A situation that is extremely rare.
Despite her comments, she has said that she personally doesn’t have an issue with “the trans part” of the LGBTQ+ community.
“I am the biggest advocate for adults being able to do whatever the heck they wanna do, they’re adults. I don’t care.”
However, Minaj then compared gender-affirming surgery for trans youth to allowing a teenager “to get breast implants”.
