Tony Blair’s local doctor jailed for possessing gay paedophilia
A family doctor in Tony Blair’s Sedgefield constituency has been jailed for 15 months for possession of gay paedophilia on his computer
Dr Riccardo Benci, a GP with Sedgefield Primary Care Trust in County Durham has also been suspended from working as a doctor after computer shop staff discovered the images when he took his pc in to be repaired.
Benci had previously been subject to a disciplinary hearing following the discovery of adult pornography on his work computer at the Jubilee Medical Group practice, in Newton Aycliffe.
Judge Guy Whitburn, said that shock and fear was in evidence on the faces of the abused boys who were aged between 6 and 15. The children were depicted in “hardcore sado-masochistic situations.”
Shaun Dodds, for the Crown Prosecution Service said that police officers found 11 hours worth of footage on Benci’s computer including a film of a boy with injuries to his genitals.
Mr Dodds said: “The video footage involved children aged between six and 15 in acts involving sexual penetration and sado-masochism.
“He said he found the images disgusting, but his hormones took over and he got sexual gratification from them.””
Dan Cordey, defending Benci, said his client’s life was in ruins and that he would be unable to practise medicine in this country again.
Judge Whitburn said he could find no evidence that Benci was actually a paedophile but jailed him after he admitted to 19 counts of making indecent images of children.
Benci will be placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
