Bournemouth shows its Pride
The Bourne Free Pride Festival attracted thousands of people from across the UK on Saturday 14th July with the event reaching its highest ever numbers.
The sun came out just in time for the nautical themed Beachfront Parade, which included lots of sexy sailors, colourful drag queens and even mermaids on electric wheelchairs.
Spectators along the promenade watched as local groups and a huge 30 metre rainbow flag travelled past to the sounds of classic camp pop.
A host of top cabaret performers entertained over 3,500 people in the Lower Gardens, including local favourite Miss Jason along with Lady James, Cosmic and Miss Hap.
Bournemouth Town Hall flew the Rainbow Flag for a second year to support the Bourne Free Pride Festival.
The Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Anne Filer, made a special appearance at the Live Show during the afternoon.
The event also hosted the launch of the new Going Out scene guide from Gay Guide Bournemouth.
The brand new street party in the evening Dance Arena saw nearly 5,000 entry wristbands sold.
The Triangle, the town’s gay village, provided a night of fantastic entertainment from popular DJs and live acts.
