Alan Carr says gay men make the best chatshow hosts
Gay comedian Alan Carr has said that gay men make the best chatshow hosts because they are “gossipy”.
The second series of the star’s Channel 4 show Alan Carr: Chatty Man begins later this month.
According to Press Association, he said: “I think, at the heart of it, gay men are very gossipy, and very anecdote-led.
“I think maybe a straight man wouldn’t want to hear all of that – so maybe it’s because we’re interested in people’s lives, and what makes them tick.”
Carr also paid tribute to Jonathan Ross, whose show he worked on for three years.
He said: “I watched the master at work from the studio floor. He gets the Hollywood A-listers who are media-trained within an inch of their lives and he still manages to get something good out of them.”
