Vinnie Jones ‘has a big gay following’
Hollywood hardman Vinnie Jones has said he has an army of gay fans.
The footballer-turned-actor credited the leather outfit he wore as Juggernaut in X-Men for his popularity.
He told the Daily Star: “I’ve got a big gay following. I was very popular in West Hollywood when I was shooting X-Men with all those leather straps.
“We had a producer who used to call me ‘The Brute’ and I’d play up to it by grabbing him.”
Jones added: “I get gay fan mail too. It makes a change to the years when I was a midfielder for Wimbledon. Our groupies had builders’ bums.”
The Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels star said he never got much attention from female fans because he was “too big and too ugly”.
In 2000, the actor reportedly refused to work with a PR firm after a perfume advert which showed him kneeling at another man’s crotch was placed in a gay magazine.
Jones later said he complained because his son was getting bullied at school.
