US: Washington police seek suspect after alleged anti-gay assault in nightclub

Olympia police are searching for a man who punched a gay man in the face and yelled anti-gay slurs at him in a nightclub.

According to the police report, the 32-year-old victim says he was inside Jake’s on Fourth nightclub, when the attacker yelled anti-gay slurs, before punching him.

The report states: “he believes he was punched in the face because he is gay, and that the suspect was yelling homophobic remarks.”

According to the Olympian, the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday April 5 in the nightclub, which is a gay venue, in Olympia, Washington.

The alleged attacker is a black male, wearing a red hat, and was approximately five-feet tall. The victim said he believes the man is in the military.

No arrests have so far been made.
