Tory MP Mike Freer and partner Angelo convert their civil partnership to marriage

Conservative MP Mike Freer and his civil partner Angelo Crolla today celebrated as they converted their civil partnership to marriage.

The couple, who entered into a civil partnership on this date eight years ago. They have been together for over 20 years.

The MP for Finchley and Golders Green was a strong supporter of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act, passed in 2013, which allowed couples to convert civil partnerships from late 2014.

He has also campaigned strongly to have HPV vaccinations extended to boys, and on a range of other LGBT issues.
