A Daily Mail columnist actually managed to get offended by the Bake Off
Despite the Great British Bake Off being one of the UKās least offensive TV shows, the Daily Mail still managed to be rubbed up the wrong way.
Columnist Amanda Platell took aim at the BBC One show, claiming that it is a āPC triumphā, asking if Scottish Flora lost out by not being āPC enoughā.
Suggesting that she was knocked out of the programme because other contestants were openly gay or Muslim, Platell wrote that Flora was āfar too middle classā.
Platell writes: āPoor Flora wasnāt PC enough for Beeb
āWhen this series of The Great British Bake Off began, the BBC was proud it was the most inclusive, multi-cultural line-up ever.
āNow weāre down to the final three, itās certainly a PC triumph. We are left with Muslim mum Nadiya Hussain, gay doctor
āTamal Ray, and New Man Ian Cumming. Poor Flora Shedden never stood a chance. She was far too middle class ā and was booted off this week after her chocolate carousel was deemed sub-standard.ā
She continued, asking: āPerhaps if sheād made a chocolate mosque, sheād have stood a better chance.ā
Finalist Tamal came out as gay last week and said he was looking for a boyfriend.
Sue Perkins and co-presenter Mel Giedroyc earlier this year revealed how they nearly spent a night in the cells after pulling a prank on Paul Hollywood.
