Twitter has revealed the most popular tweets, hashtags and people of 2015.
The social media site has unveiled the most influential tweets, tweeters and hashtags of the past twelve months.
President Obamaās tweet after the Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage across America was one of the most retweeted messages of 2015.
#MarriageEquality was the third most popular hashtag of the year, peaking during May and Juneās same-sex marriage votes in Ireland and the USA respectively.
#JeSuisCharlie and #PrayForParis ā a way for Twitter users across the world to show their support for victims of the atrocities in January and November ā were the most popular hashtags among Twitterās 320 million global users.
#LoveWins ā celebrating the US Supreme Courtās landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide ā started trending globally on June 26.
Obamaās post that day was quickly retweeted across the globe ā making it the fourth most popular tweet of the year, with nearly a million retweets and favourites.
The highest court in the US made the decision after hearing āmega-caseā Obergefell v. Hodges.
1.17 million tweets with the hashtag #LoveWins were sent into the Twittersphere only two hours after the public heard the official ruling.
Social media users also tweeted 716,000 posts involving the Supreme Court.
The leaderās message applauding the ābig stepā toward equality, placed in-between tweets from members of the popular boyband One Direction, who dominated the list.
Caitlyn Jennerās coming out tweet was also in the top 10, after she smashed a world record by gaining a million followers on the site in record time.
āAnother Jenner world record, and at 65? Whoāda thought! Humbled and honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs. Thank you for your support,ā she wrote.
In a previous tweet she wrote: āIām so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Canāt wait for you to get to know her/me.ā
Jenner, Olympic gold medal winner and reality TV star came out as trans in an interview with Diane Sawyer in in April.
Revealing that her name was now Caitlyn, Jenner also appeared in the iconic shoot by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair magazine, shot at her Malibu home.
