Bartender accuses management at upmarket NYC restaurant of calling him a ‘f**got’
An up-market Manhattan restaurant has been served with a lawsuit after a manager allegedly screamed at a bartender that he is a “faggot” and looks like a “gay porn star”.
The restaurant, Bagatelle, in New York City, is frequented by all kinds of A-list stars.
Terrance McCleveland, a bartender at the restaurant, said a supervisor at the brunch spot in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District screamed the slur at him in front of “multiple employees”.
According to to court filings, the manager made the comments in a staff room.
The court papers included a copy of an Employee Development Notice which reads that McCleveland “looks like a faggot” and “wears Barbie t-shirts behind the bar”.
The same restaurant is facing a separate lawsuit which alleges from two other employees that the restaurant had a police for years of assigning codes to customers with the wrong “look”, or of different racial backgrounds.
The first lawsuit suggests that the restaurant placed such customers on tables out of sight.
