Urban Outfitters is starting 2017 in style, featuring transgender and plus-size models in its new campaign.

The ‘Class of 2017’ campaign is launched working with brands Hanes and Champion, and aims to highlight diversity and individuality.

The 16 ‘influencers’ featured in the campaign includes writers, musicians, artists and students, and includes out trans model Hari Nef.

It has been celebrated as Urban Outfitters’ most progressive campaign so far, and aims to spread social awareness.

The models were picked because they actively go out of their way to “challenge the status quo”.

Each of the influencers featured designed their own Hanes t-shirt.

Trans model Hari Nef is featured in the campaign, alongside plus-size model Barbie Ferreira.

Earlier this week, Nef appeared in a new advert for Love magazine, and it is amazing.

The 24-year-old American model channelled classic Hollywood glamour in the version of Blue Velvet for Love magazine.

The fashion industry has for several years taken to embrace genderless fashion and is becoming more diverse.

Back in 2015, Selfridges department store announced that it had adopted a number of genderless brands, and that it would stop gendering its clothing.

For its September 2016 issue, ELLE UK featured three LGBT+ icons on its covers.
