Donald Trump says US Army shows ‘no place for bigotry’ just after after banning trans people

Just weeks after announcing a blanket ban on trans people in the US Military, Donald Trump has commended the US Army for being “no place for bigotry”.

The Commander in Chief was accused of major hypocrisy after an address he made on Monday night about the US Military.

“When we open our hearts to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice, no place for bigotry and no tolerance for hate,” Trump said, despite personally banning trans troops just weeks ago.

Trump tweeted the ban on transgender troops serving openly in the US military, claiming that he was doing a “great favour” to the military.

He cited costs, saying it would be too expensive to cover transgender health benefits for those serving.

But despite this it will cost the military 114 times more to ban transgender troops than it would to allow them to enlist.

Naturally many took to social media to denounce Trump’s words against “bigotry”.
