Ann Widdecombe set to lose Celebrity Big Brother as show enters final full day

Ann Widdecombe has been the bookies’ odd-on favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother over the past fortnight.
The 70-year-old former Tory MP has experienced an extraordinary transformation in popularity since entering the CBB house as a rank outsider.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes slashed the price of Ann winning as the show entered its final 10 days.
But now it looks like the anti-equality politician could miss out on being crowned the 21st CBB winner.

She has slipped to second favourite to win the show – with odds of 13/8, according to William Hill.
Currently beating her to the top spot in the bookies’ ranking is Courtney Act star Shane Jenek.
The outspoken gender fluid drag artist is odds on favourite at 8/13, which is an impressive comeback after more than a week of slipping popularity.

Ann had been the 7/4 favourite to win just days ago – having been 50/1 on entering the house.
“It is a straight fight between Courtney and Ann for who wins this and I for one would not bet against her,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
Just last week the spokesman admitted of Ann: “Not since John Sergeant have we underestimated anyone so badly.”

Fellow housemate Shane Lynch has odds of 16/1, in third place.
Meanwhile Jess Impiazzi is 20/1 and gay dancer Wayne Sleep is the rank outsider at 66/1.
If reports are to be believed this season’s winner could be the penultimate ever winner of Celebrity Big Brother.
Channel 5 bosses are said to be ready to can the programme after its contract with Endemol, the production company behind the show, ends in 2018.

Ann, the second oldest housemate after Amanda Barrie, who was evicted earlier this week, has had a tumultuous time with the other celebrities.
In an interview shortly after his eviction Friday night, Andrew said that a victory for the former MP would reflect badly on the show.

He said: “I don’t think Ann should win. If Ann wins this show it will be the worst thing for Celebrity Big Brother.
“The emphasis of this show is about women, and celebrating women’s rights a hundred years ago.”
This year’s Celebrity Big Brother has taken on a feminist theme with the ‘Year of the Woman’, intended to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women’s partial suffrage.

The former Apprentice star then directly criticised the 70-year-old for her views on LGBT rights.
Andrew said: “The views that people expressed a hundred years ago that stop women have the vote before that, are the same views Ann has today about homosexuality.
“She shouldn’t win it. She goes against everything. Equality, diversity.”
