Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui took to Twitter last night to expose the ignorant and offer support to members of the LGBT+ community.
Identifying as bisexual herself, Jauregui came out to the public in late 2016.
It all started when she shared a user’s tweet that included screenshots of responses people had replied to: “What will you do if your son comes out as GAY.”
The responses to the initial tweet were negative and homophobic, leading to Jauregui to say how disgusted she was with them.
Sharing the post, she tweeted: “This is such a disgusting display of toxic masculinity & a deep ignorance of the expression of human sexuality.
“It is a spectrum that has no shame.
“It will be painful but it will lead you to your true family. Anyone who can wish this on something they created is deeply troubled.”
She then replied to a user who said he: “Would love him regardless as long he’s a good person he could love who ever he wants”, saying: “Shine king”.
Jauregui then comforted another user who tweeted about being terrified to coming out to their parents as bisexual, tweeting: “Do not be terrified.
