Colton Haynes wrote his mother a heartbreaking letter as he is ‘forced to say goodbye to her’

Colton Haynes has shared a beautiful letter written to his mother after being told that her health is failing.

The American Horror Story star took to Instagram to reveal that his mother had fallen sick with advanced cirrhosis of the liver and kidney which causes the organs to fail.

The disease is usually curable with a transplant, however, the doctors believe that the disease is too far gone and that she will not stay alive long enough to receive a new liver.

Recounting the moment that he and his family found out that his mother, Dana, was sick, he wrote that “even when her liver & kidney doctors gave us the worst news you could get, my mom looked at us and said, “The best thing to do in these situations is to laugh”.”

Haynes set up a GoFundMe account in order to pay for an in-home nurse and the goal was reached.

The Arrow star explained that any money raised over the goal would be donated to the American Liver Foundation “to help others who are going through this horrible disease”.

“Giving you guys all my love, bless her and I’m so sorry,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Stay strong, keep smile even if it’s hard. I give all my support and my love to your family and you, love you.”

“Keeping you and your family & Jeff in my thoughts. The hard part is having to sit by feeling helpless to do anything. Bless your Mom,” a third added.
