Pitch Perfect star Adam Devine wants to see films with gay characters who don’t view their sexuality as “the main issue in their lives.”
The American actor told NewNowNext: “It seems like almost every gay movie is about some struggle—the struggle of coming out, how hard it is, people not understanding.
“I totally get that, of course, but I want to see a movie about two gay guys where being gay is not the main issue in their lives.”
“I certainly would never pass on a role because it was gay.”

“I want to see them on a completely different journey that has nothing to do with them being gay,” he added.

Devine, who stars opposite Rebel Wilson in new rom-com parody Isn’t It Romantic, also said he would have no problem taking on a gay role.
“I’m down to play anything,” he said, “as long as the script is great and I think I could bring something to the character.”
