Chelsea Manning epically shut down Donald Trump with two little words after he deliberately misgendered her
Chelsea Manning has responded to Donald Trump after he deliberately misgendered her.
The president took aim at the transgender whistleblower in a press conference on Monday, attacking former president Barack Obama’s decision to commute her sentence in his last days in office.
Donald Trump called Chelsea Manning a ‘young gentleman’.
Defending his decision to pardon military officers convicted of war crimes, Trump cited “a young gentleman, now a person who president Obama let go, who stole tremendous amounts of classified information”.
He said: “The person I’m talking about is Chelsea Manning, by the way, if you had any doubt.
“So you have Chelsea Manning, who after — after Manning was, I assume, pardoned by president Obama, Chelsea Manning went around and badmouthed president Obama, on top of everything else.
“So when you have a Chelsea Manning who stole classified information and did many, many things that were not good and gets pardoned — or whatever happened… and then they want to put these warriors in jail for 25 years… No, we’re not going do that to our people.”
Whistleblower had the perfect response.
Manning responded to the president’s 330 words ramble with a two-word tweet, writing: “ok boomer ???”
In a second message, she said: “(this is an official response).”
After being freed by president Obama in 2016, Manning became a prominent voice for transgender rights.
In March 2019 she was jailed again, after being held in contempt of court for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating WikiLeaks.
Manning, who remains behind bars, could remain in jail for up to 18 months after her legal appeal was rejected, while she will also face nearly half a million dollars in court fines for her refusal to testify.
Trump has attacked Manning before, claiming in 2017: “Ungrateful TRAITOR Chelsea Manning, who should never have been released from prison, is now calling president Obama a weak leader. Terrible!”
