Halsey announces she’s pregnant with glorious rainbow baby bump reveal: ‘Surprise!’

Halsey surprised her fans with the happy news that she is pregnant by sharing a trio of maternity photos on Instagram.

The 26-year-old pop star revealed her baby bump for the first time on Wednesday (26 January) in a stunning shoot by the photographer Sam Dameshek.

The photos show Halsey posing topless and in a rainbow knitted bikini top in front of a white and purple silk backdrop.

“Surprise!” reads the simple caption, followed by rainbow and baby emojis – likely alluding to the fact that her “rainbow baby” comes after years of battling endometriosis, which she underwent surgery for in 2017.

The “Bad at Love” singer has been outspoken about her condition, revealing that it caused her to suffer a traumatic miscarriage on stage three years ago.

“It’s the most inadequate I’ve ever felt,” she told The Guardian in February last year.

“Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralising.”

But she dropped hints that motherhood was “looking like something that’s gonna happen for me,” adding at the time: “That’s a miracle.”

While Halsey hasn’t confirmed the father of her baby, she is believed to be dating the 37-year-old screenwriter Alev Aydin, though she’s kept their relationship private until now.

She tagged Aydin over her belly in the shot, who commented: “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness.” Halsey replied: “I love you!!!!! And I love this mini human already.”

The singer, who is bisexual, has also been in relationships with rapper G-Easy, English alternative rocker Yungblud and actor Evan Peters, but split from all three.

The significance of her much-longed for pregnancy wasn’t lost on her friends in the entertainment world, who flooded her post with messages of congratulations.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, actor Ruby Rose, Teen Wolf alum Arden Cho and model Emily Ratajkowski were among those celebrating the big news.

“You’re gonna be the greatest momma,” wrote Sweeney, who is set to star alongside Halsey in the upcoming mystery series They Wish They Were Us. “I cant wait!”
