Drag Race UK icon Bimini Bon Boulash to author ‘anti self-help manifesto’ and they may as well rename it the Bimini Bon Booker Prize already
Drag Race UK icon Bimini Bon Boulash is set to become a published author after they struck a publishing deal with Penguin.
Bimini is set to release A Drag Queen’s Guide to Life (working title) on 28 October, 2021, it was announced on Friday (26 March), which is now available to preorder.
The book will see Bimini exploring what drag has taught them about identity, politics, history, health and fashion, while also delving into their own backstory.
The Drag Race UK fan-favourite will also open up about the legends who have inspired them to become the fierce queen she is today.
“This book is an absolute ‘don’t wake me if I’m dreaming’ moment, and I can’t wait to share it with the world,” Bimini said in a press release.

“Think of this as your anti self-help book – a manifesto that won’t make you feel bad when you don’t do things perfectly, and will encourage you to be kind to yourself always.”
Bimini Bon Boulash’s book is ‘full of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent’
A Drag Queen’s Guide to Life will be published by Penguin imprint Viking. Editorial director Tom Killingbeck said: “This book is full of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, and will be a much-needed riposte to bestselling treatises from buttoned-up psychologists telling us how to live ordered lives.”
Announcing the news on Instagram, Bimini wrote: “I’m gonna be a published author!”
She continued: “I’ll be covering topics from positive affirmations to self-destruction with the help of my favourite muses and icons that have shaped my life including some darker moments,” Bimini Bon Boulash said.
“Life can be unpredictable and I want to share the good with the bad. Think of this as a self-love manifesto with a punky attitude – I can’t wait to share this with the world!”
Bimini thanked publishers Penguin and Viking Books for the opportunity to write the book, and promised she will “blow people out the water”.
The news comes just over a week after Bimini lost out on the Drag Race UK crown to Lawrence Chaney.
The non-binary icon later heaped praise on Chaney in an emotional Twitter thread in which she thanked Drag Race UK fans for their undying support.
“I competed with myself the entire time and no one else. I believe in the universe and I trust the process. Everything happens for a reason,” she wrote.
The book is available to preorder for £16.99 from Waterstones, including a signed copy and Amazon.
