Fox News host Tucker Carlson appears to support Harvey Milk’s assassin

Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s anti-LGBT+ views started from an early age, an unearthed “dusty college yearbook” has revealed.
On Wednesday (21 April), an image began circulating on Twitter showing Carlson’s 1991 yearbook when he was a senior at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
Next to his photo, he is listed as a member of the “Dan White Society” and the “Jesse Helms Foundation”.
A representative for Trinity College confirmed to The Wrap that the yearbook was authentic.

Harvey Milk was one of the first openly gay elected officials in the history of the US and the very first openly LGBT+ person to hold public office in California.
Tragically, less than a year after being elected to the San Francisco board of supervisors in 1977, the LGBT+ rights activist was assassinated by Dan White, his former city supervisor opponent.
Jesse Helms was a viciously anti-LGBT+ former North Carolina senator, who once said: “Nothing positive happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and nothing positive is likely to happen to America if our people succumb to the drumbeats of support for the homosexual lifestyle.”
He fought against federally funded HIV/ AIDS research insisting the disease came from the “unnatural” and “disgusting” behaviour of homosexuals, who he thought were “weak, morally sick wretches”, and even voted against the confirmation of late Supreme Court judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who he described as supporting the “homosexual agenda”.
It is unclear whether the “Dan White Society” and the “Jesse Helms Foundation” were real groups, or whether Carlson was trying to make a point. According to Snopes, the groups are not mentioned by anyone else in the yearbook.
Although Carlson has not specifically responded to the revelations about his college yearbook, he did attempt a preemptive exercise in damage control.

During his Fox News segment Tucker Carlson Tonight, the night before the yearbook page went viral, he said: “Jeff Bezos had one of his minions, a mentally unbalanced middle-aged man called [Washington Post journalist] Erik Wemple pull our dusty college yearbook and call round to see if we’d done anything naughty at the age of 19.
“That sounds like fun. Let us know if you hear any good stories.”
