The local business created the special edition bottle a few years ago and it’s back to celebrate Pride Month in 2021.

It sees them collaborate with Salford Pride on the bottle, which they is a “glorious celebration of diversity.”

The bottle itself is designed by Manchester artist Dave Draws, featuring a hand-penned map of the city that has been painted with the colours of the rainbow.

The docks of Salford – which has been home to Caribbean liquor and spices since the late 1800s – have turned red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple to celebrate Pride.

So what does the rum taste like? Well, it’s described as a bubbling pot of marmalade, fruitcake, maple syrup, woody spices, dried fruit and heavy vanilla.

The brand say it’s “truly a rum for all seasons” that’s not too sweet and not without a warming fire in its belly.

The bottle is priced at £53 and will see The Salford Rum Company make a contribution to support future LGBT+ events in the area for every bottle sold.

It follows up the release of a number of different Pride-themed alcohol bottles to celebrate Pride Month.

This includes a limited edition vodka from Stoli, who teamed up with The Harvey Milk Foundation on a bottle featuring Milk and one his famous quotes, with proceeds going to the Foundation.

Another is the jaw-dropping rainbow skull bottle from Crystal Head Vodka which will see a contribution from each bottle sold donated to Kaleidoscope Trust.

Plus there’s an official Pride gin from Bohemian Brands who regularly partner with London Pride to help keep the event free for everyone to attend.
