Margate Pride Nadine Coyle

Margate Pride has announced details for this year’s event, including headliner Nadine Coyle.

This year will see a “careful, kind and considered celebration of Pride” take place at Dreamland Margate on 14 August.

Tickets for the event are now on sale at See Tickets.

The Girls Aloud star will headline the Pride event with Jodie Harsh, Lisa Maffia, Sink The Pink, the drag queens of Margate and much more on the lineup.

Fans can expect to hear Girls Aloud classics from “Sound of the Underground” to “Call the Shots” and “Something Kinda Ooooh” to “Something New” as well as her solo (and underrated) material.

Unfortunately the parade – a central feature of Pride events around the world – won’t take place, with organisers saying: “We feel it is most responsible and safest not to have a parade this year.”

They’ve confirmed that Pride celebrations will kick off on 6 August with The Margate Pride Art Trail, which will see queer artists showcased across the town.

Meanwhile the 8 August will see a drag kick ball sports day and picnic that “everyone is welcome to”.

Other free events taking place across the day on 14 August include the inaugural Mx Margate: A Very Queer Beauty Pageant, at the socially distanced Oval bandstand.

Sundeck and Sundowners terraces are programming “excellent stuff” they will share soon, while venues throughout the town including Elsewhere and The George & Heart will join in with the celebrations.

The organisers say: “We are always here, and the parade will be back in 2022.

“We can’t wait to see Margate turn rainbow, filled with love and kindness and sunshine. Your pride, at your pace.”

They’ve also confirmed that previously announced headliners, All Saints will now perform at the event in 2022, with ticketholders being able to roll over their tickets to next year.

Tickets for Margate Pride 2021 are priced at £15 for general admission or £40 for VIP via See Tickets. More details will be released on how to access tickets for the free events.
