Boygenius star Julien Baker has cancelled the remainder of her joint tour with fellow indie rocker TORRES in order to “focus on her health”.
A statement posted on Baker’s Instagram page yesterday (4 May) confirmed that the remainder of the Send A Prayer My Way Tour will no longer go ahead.
“Due to recent events, Julien Baker is prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health. Therefore, the Julien Baker & TORRES ‘Send A Prayer My Way’ Tour has been canceled,” the post reads.
“This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment this may cause for fans. We deeply appreciate your understanding. Refunds and ticketing information will be provided by the original point of purchase.”
Baker’s announcement rounds off by thanking her fans for their “continued support and compassion”.

Baker and TORRES were meant to perform at the Stable Hall in San Antonio last night, but the show was pulled several hours before it was scheduled to go ahead. Their last tour date was on 1 May, when they performed to a sold-out crowd at Tipitina’s in New Orleans.
The queer music duo released their debut collaborative country project Send a Prayer My Way on 18 April, with the corresponding US tour kicking off in Richmond on 23 April.
While the statement didn’t expand on the “recent events” which led to the tour cancellation, the news comes weeks after the pair were forced to pull out of two shows in March due to an unnamed band member suffering concussion.
In late March, Baker and TORRES were set to perform and speak at Ohio University and at Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival, but had to pull out.
A statement published on Instagram at the time read: “Over the weekend one of our key members sustained a concussion and will need to take the next few weeks to recover. Due to this we are forced to cancel the Julien Baker & TORRES’ appearance at Ohio University.”

According to Baker’s website, she and TORRES will resume playing live with a string of festival dates this summer, beginning on 20 June at the Green River Festival in Greenfield.
Julien Baker is one third of Grammy Award-winning indie super group Boygenius, alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Baker’s recently confirmed partner, Lucy Dacus.
