Tom Daley is back with his latest knitting project, a jumper for Bretman Rock which features a portrait of his chicken (yes, really).
The king of knitting first became known for his crafting skills at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, after he was spotted with his needles and wool whilst in the stands at the sporting event. Throughout his career, Daley has made time to gift celebrities and his fellow diving partner handmade (if not phallic) crafts.
Since retiring from professional diving, the five-time Olympic medal holder has been announced to be at the helm of the UK’s first TV knitting competition. Nonetheless, he’s still made time to gift social media icon Rock with a knitted jumper, which features their beloved chicken, Priscilla.
In a Thursday (17 July) Instagram Reel from the non-binary content creator, Rock thanked Daley for the jumper, writing: “I’m obsessed. Thank you @Tom Daley, this is one of my favourite things ever.”
“Priscilla da baddest,” Daley commented, harking back to Rock’s podcast, DaBaddest Radio.
Rock, who uses he/she/they pronouns, introduced viewers to Priscila, his beloved chicken. “This morning I got a message from Tom Daley, yes, the Tom Daley, and he said, ‘Do you want a knit chicken sweater?’ And I said, ‘yes’.
“I picked Priscila [to be featured] because I feel like she has BSE, big sweater energy,” she continued. “But this hair is not giving, Priscila, so we’ve got to give her a bath and give her a photoshoot.”
Rock proceeded to take viewers through Priscila’s bath and haircare routine before declaring, “I think she’s ready for her closeup.”
Later, the social media mogul met up with Daley, who gifted Rock with the extremely iconic muscle-tee-style jumper. The jumper captures Priscila’s hairstyle perfectly, and even boasts a 3D beak. “Thank you Tom, we love it,” they said.
Who is Bretman Rock?
Bretman Rock is a 26-year-old influencer and makeup artist. Rock was described by The Hollywood Reporter as taking “seemingly every industry by storm, including social media, beauty, fashion, television, business and podcasting”.
The star rose to fame on the since-defunct video sharing platform, Vine, and has since garnered over 18 million followers on Instagram, TikTok, and over 8 million on YouTube. Rock, who is a proud non-binary, first-generation Asian American, also launched a podcast series last year titled DaBaddest Radio.
