Mariah Carey delivered what’s been dubbed “the best response possible” during an interview where she was asked whether she’d ever want to go to space.
The “Queen of Christmas” is not short on iconic responses, from declaring “I don’t know her” when asked about her then-rival Jennifer Lopez in the early 2000s, to her effortless reaction to Jeff Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sanchez in June this year.
Carey appeared in a BBC Radio 2 interview on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show to promote her upcoming album, Here For It All, which marks her first full album release in seven years.
The radio host asked the “Type Dangerous” hitmaker whether she would go to space, “like Katy did”, referring to Katy Perry’s 11-minute Blue Origin space flight. Despite the widespread backlash to the “Woman’s World” singer’s space flight, Carey seemed confused.
“Did she go to space? Where did she go?”, she asked.
Presenter Mills assured the star that Perry’s space mission was real, to which Carey responded: “All right, Katy… I’m not mad at her, that’s pretty amazing.”
Asked whether she would do it herself, Carey simply responded: “I think I’ve done enough.”
Of course, her loyal fanbase is in agreement. “Best response to this question possible,” one wrote online.
“Lmaooo she not wrong though,” said another. “Well played, Mariah, well played,” commented a third.

When the “Hero” hitmaker isn’t vowing to stand by the LGBTQ+ community, she’s delivering her “best live vocals in years”, all whilst preparing to release her 16th (yes, really) studio album.
Carey has had a stellar 35-year career in the industry, with five Grammy awards to her name. Continuing to break records, the singer-songwriter’s 2005 hit “We Belong Together” is now certified seven-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as per Forbes.
This means the song has now broken its tie with her 1995 track “Fantasy”, which, at six-times platinum, is now Carey’s third-most certified single ever. Her festive track “All I Want for Christmas Is You” succeeds both songs as her most-certified single ever, with 16 platinum plaques to its name, as per RIAA data.
