Ricky Martin’s ex-husband, Jwan Yosef, has talked about co-parenting with the singer in the wake of their separation.
Puerto Rican singer Martin, best-known for hits “She Bangs” and “Livin’ La Vida Loca”, revealed in a joint statement on Instagram in July 2023 that he and Swedish-Syrian artist Yosef had decided to end their six-year marriage but would continue to co-parent their children.
Now, in an interview with Attitude, Yosef has opened up about caring for the youngsters, six-year-old daughter Lucia and son Renn, who is five.
‘It’s been an extremely lovely kind of experience’
“We’ve had the most wonderful relationship,” he said. “It’s a very solid and calm co-parenting situation. We live 10 minutes away from each other, we speak every other day.
“We love our kids so much. It’s been an extremely lovely kind of experience, it’s a way of living.

“It’s a little bit grand to [say] but it’s probably been the most amazing thing to be a queer man in our society today, to raise these kids into a pretty amazing awareness. And this is a conversation I have with my kids every other day, explaining how different families look, how many parents certain kids have, what kind of parents certain kids have.
“It’s educational for them but it also puts things into context for [me] as a parent, as a person and as a queer man, understanding what it is I’m shaping here.”
Martin has previously said that his relationship with Yosef was “better than ever” following their split-up.
