RuPaul’s Drag Race icon Katya Zamolodchikova is stepping back from her upcoming projects and tour dates to focus on her health.
The globally-renowned drag queen, who appeared on Drag Race season 7 and All Stars 2, is taking time off after “recent medical complications”, her team has confirmed.
Katya was forced to cancel a show with longtime collaborator and fellow Drag Race star Trixie Mattel earlier this year after being hospitalised with a bowel obstruction in her small intestine. The performer previously took some time off in 2024 to enter treatment for addiction.

“Katya will be taking time away from upcoming projects and live events so she can prioritize her health following recent medical complications. A full recovery is anticipated,” the statement on Katya’s Instagram reads.
“With the support of her family, her team, and Trixie, she appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. Her fans have always been so gracious, and that means everything to her,” it continues.
“For upcoming live events, ticket holders will receive additional details regarding their options shortly.”
The news came just a day before Katya and Trixie were set to Katya to kick off their ‘Very Bald and Very Beautiful Tour’ in Oakland, California on Thursday (September 17). The US tour has 19 shows scheduled until March 2027.
