Hudson Williams has called out fans for shipping him with his Heated Rivalry co-star Connor Storrie when he has a girlfriend.

The actor, who made his debut at the Met Gala this week, took to Threads to share his thoughts on the matter, writing: “Rpfing gotta stop yall.”

‘RPF’, short for ‘Real Person Fiction’, refers to the controversial fan practice of theorising or fantasising that two real people, such as celebrities, are romantically involved with each other.

Williams’ comment came in response to a now-deleted Threads post. The post, from user ang_wyctmcts22, featured a screenshot of a post shared to Instagram by Williams of himself at a Met Gala after party, which he had accompanied with the song ‘Woo’ by Rihanna.

Ang_wyctmcts22’s post also included a screenshot of the lyrics from the song, with the caption: “YA CAUSE I’M TOTALLY FINE…”

The lyrics pictured read: “I bet she could never make you cry / ‘Cause the scars on your heart are still mine / Tell me that she couldn’t get this deep / She can almost be the worst of me / Too bad she’s just eating off your dreams / Let me know when you’re ready to bleed / Baby, you just need to send for me / Send for me.”

Other Heated Rivalry fans were quick to call the fan out in the replies. “He said: ‘Consent revoked,’ and everyone needs to respect that,” one wrote.

“Standing up for himself and his girl and their relationship is yet another reason why this man is a walking green flag,” said another. “Good for you for setting those boundaries!”

Another added: “Not sure how many times you both have to say that men can be close and affectionate with other men without it being romantic before weirdos get it tbh.”

The interaction also made its way to Heated Rivalry and Hudson Williams fans on X. “Made the mistake of checking out Threads where they think Hudson and his girlfriend broke up so he could be with Connor,” said one user.

Other users lamented the fact that RPFing is now “illegal”. “Apparently Hudson Williams banned RPF. It was a good six-month run, y’all,” one fan said.
