Heated Rivalry actor Hudson Williams has taken a big step in his personal life, seemingly making the choice to be more private than before.
The actor went from unknown to megastar almost overnight late last year, thanks to his role as Shane Hollander in the gay hockey romance. After its initial release in Canada, it eventually got picked up around the world – with even fans in Russia finding illegal ways to watch it.
Williams even made his debut at the Met Gala earlier in May, with co-star Connor Storrie also in attendance.
However, with all of the adoration from fans has come intense and unfair scrutiny. Showrunner Jacob Tierney clapped back at the racism sent Williams’ way, while a number of Heated Rivalry cast members shared a statement condemning the personal attacks coming from some so-called fans.

Even more recently, Williams, who is in a relationship with Katelyn Rose Larson, told fans to stop shipping him with Storrie, who plays his love-interest Ilya Rozanov on Heated Rivalry.
Now, Williams has unfollowed everyone on Instagram, similarly to Storrie.
Fans have shared their praise but also sadness that Williams has taken the step, with some applauding him for wanting to be more private, while others suggested it was down to fans who “can’t respect boundaries”.
‘I respect his decision and you should too’
One said on X: “The sad thing is he really did try for months – to be down to earth and real. He just wanted to talk with fans and build a community but people can’t respect boundaries and put decency over their selfishness. Now Hudson and the fandom is lost.”
Another said: “Racist hate account with 10k followers, multiple people making up lies, ‘fans’ stalking him in hotels/airports, people forcing him to state his sexuality, shippers not listening to him when he asked to stop, fans of his co-star being absolute sick freaks… yeah I would do worse.”

A third joked: “If I was Hudson I would’ve been put in jail for homicide so I think instagram unfollowing is pretty chill.”
And someone else said: “Just know that I support whatever Hudson needs to do to protect himself. If it was unfollowing everyone and go silent then so be it. His mental and emotional well-being is the utmost important. I respect his decision and you should too.”
Another added: “Protect your peace and the boundaries you set, Hudson! Your real fans will be supporting you and your art no matter what.”
