Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp to make theatre debut in London with Affluenza

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp will make his theatre stage debut this autumn, starring in Affluenza at Riverside Studios, a new drama set among the ultra-wealthy of the Hamptons that explores power, privilege and accountability.
The play runs from 26 September to 21 November 2026, and tickets are now on sale.
Schnapp, who came out as gay in 2023, said as per Variety: “I am so excited to make my stage debut in London with Affluenza,” adding: “I started talking with Andy Sandberg a few months ago about finding the right opportunity to work together, and it’s thrilling to now be bringing this play to life in London.”
He continued: “I wanted to be very intentional about what I took on next, and as I spend more time with this excellent script, I feel so connected to the characters.”
Schnapp, recently graduated college, added: “Without giving away too much, I get to play two very different roles, and it’s a story that’s really going to leave audiences talking and thinking.”
What Affluenza is about
Written and directed by Andy Sandberg, Affluenza is said to raise “thought-provoking questions about moral accountability, family legacy, and the American justice system”.
The story follows a teen whose drunken car ride ends in devastation, with the verdict coming down to a single question: can someone be too affluent to know the difference between right and wrong?
The play is inspired by true events surrounding a shocking legal defence, and explores the “ripple effects of power and privilege”.
Sandberg, a Tony-winning producer and the season’s artistic director, said: “I am incredibly excited to be launching this play and this season in just a few weeks and now with Noah Schnapp at the helm,” adding: “Noah is a brilliant young actor who has captivated audiences on screen, and now London audiences will have the opportunity to see him in his stage debut.”
