Heated Rivalry fans are speculating that a huge role has been cast for season two, ahead of filming getting underway in July.
A previous casting call listed a number of new roles, including that of androgynous musician Fabian Salah, who is one of the focal characters of Tough Guy, book three in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series.
The casting call for Fabian asked for a “male, late 20s/early 30s” of “Lebanese-descent”, also mentioning his “androgynous, lean and lithe” look. It was set to be a “series recurring” role.
Now, fans are certain that showrunner Jacob Tierney may have found the show’s Fabian, after stars Hudson Williams and Kaden Connors were pictured with Abdalla Amour.
Williams plays lead character Shane Hollander, while Connors plays Ilya’s friend Sasha.
In the photo, the trio of men posed together during the Canadian Screen Awards. Connors also posted a group shot, which included Amour, with the caption: “Proud beyond belief for my Heated Rivalry family.”
Also in the photo was author Reid, Kolton Stewart who plays Carter Vaughn, Callan Potter who plays Hayden Pike, Slavic Rogozine who plays Alexei Rozanov, and Benjamin Roy who plays JJ Dagenais.
Fans have noticed that Amour is following Tierney, Reid, and Tierney’s production company Accent Aigu Entertainment. “If he doesn’t have the role, he must really want it,” one said on Reddit.
While some suggested the photo meant nothing as it could unintentionally reveal the casting, one person said: “I don’t think it’s a risk. I think it’s intentionally fuelling buzz!”
Meanwhile, others reacted to the casting rumours on X, with one saying: “10/10 casting once again.” Another wrote: “He would make a good Fabian.” A third commented: “Oooh! I see the vision!”
Who is Abdalla Amour?
According to his Instagram profile, Amour is Lebanese-Ukrainian and a model based in New York City, London and Canada.
He has appeared in a handful of acting roles, as per his IMDb page, including Unsolved Mysteries, The Deep Web, and Strangers.
