Katseye member Yoonchae is being praised by fans for giving her queer group mate Lara a gift for Pride Month.

Lara came out as queer to fans last year, with band mate Megan coming out as bisexual just a few weeks later.

Now, to celebrate Pride Month, youngest member Yoonchae appeared on a livestream with Lara and gifted her a heart-shaped balloon which read “I love you” on it. She told her: “Happy Pride!”

Laughing, Lara replied: “Thank you Yoonchae, this is so sweet. This is actually really cute.

The moment, which has been clipped and shared on social media, has seen fans praise South Korean member Yoonchae for her support.

One said: “She’s so cute I love their friendship.” Another wrote: “I’m going to sob she’s adorable.”

When did Lara come out?

Lara spoke of her queerness in March last year on Weverse, saying she “knew [she] was half a fruitcake when [she] was like eight”.

She added: “Isn’t half a fruitcake such a good way to explain it without saying it?”

The singer admitted she’d been concerned it could affect her success in the group, whose formation was documented on Netflix series Dream Academy.

She said: “I didn’t know if people would accept me and I really thought it would ruin my chances of getting in.”

Fans instantly showed their support, with one saying: “I’m glad she felt safe and confident enough to tell us, it’s a difficult step but a very important one! I’m so proud of her.”

Another said: “I’m so proud of her, we love you Lara.”
