Jane Remover pulls out of M3F Fest 2027 over Israeli band Temper City’s inclusion

Jane Remover has pulled out of the M3F Fest 2027 line-up after urging promoters to take Israeli rock band Temper City off the bill.
The alternative artist took to their Instagram stories on 5 August 2026 to say: “Yo, get that IDF band off the lineup or I’m not playing.”
A month on from Jane’s statement, the bill for the festival has been updated, with Temper City still on the line-up and Jane Remover’s name no longer appearing on the poster. Instead, producer and DJ Flying Lotus appears in the same spot.
Israeli army service is mandatory for the majority of Israeli citizens from the age of 18, and US-born frontman of Temper City, Eytan Peled, has publicly acknowledged his background in the Israel Defense Forces.
Speaking with the Israeli publication Frogi in 2022, he said: “My military service really built me up and made me realise that I strongly believe in actively leaving my comfort zone.”
Neither Temper City nor Jane Remover have publicly spoken out about the change to the line-up, and M3F has not shared any reason behind the change to the poster.
Jane came out as a trans woman in 2022, but clarified earlier this year that they were non-binary. “It’s a touchy subject, because it can be really misinterpreted,” Jane said, adding: “I’m not not trans, but I’m not a trans woman… It is exhausting to have to figure it out publicly in front of thousands of people, so I was like: let me make this easy for everybody. I’m whatever you want, it’s up to y’all now.”
Temper City released their debut single ‘Self Aware’ in 2026. The song quickly went viral on social media and climbed to number one on the viral charts of Spotify and TikTok in 42 countries, including the United States, the UK, Israel and Australia.
