Big Brother 2026 housemate Frankie Taber has come out as bisexual in an emotional Diary Room moment on ITV2, with viewers praising the scene during Bi Visibility Month.
Taber, a 23-year-old marketing manager from London, became visibly upset as he explained why he signed up for the series. “I’ve come on this show to come out because I’m bisexual and like, I’ve been in pain for so long now probably about a year and half, two years,” he said.
He continued: “I mean just the guilt and the shame that I’m carrying from it, and I don’t know, I just feel like I’ve let down a lot of people.”
Taber also said he had not told any of his friends and family before entering the house because he felt “shame”.
As he cried, Big Brother reassured him: “Frankie, Big Brother doesn’t think you’ve let anyone down.”
What Frankie said about guilt and shame
The Diary Room is the show’s confessional space, where housemates speak directly to Big Brother away from the rest of the group, and Taber’s admission quickly became one of the early talking points of the new series.
Coming-out moments on mainstream reality TV can resonate strongly because they play out in real time, with audiences watching someone navigate fear, relief and the need to be seen. For bisexual men, who are often under-represented or stereotyped on TV, explicit self-identification on a prime-time format can carry extra weight.
Taber’s timing also struck a chord with some viewers because September is Bi Visibility Month, with Bi Visibility Day set to take place on 23 September.

The moment arrived early in the run after ITV confirmed the series would begin on Sunday, 13 September at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with a companion show airing straight after on most nights, and a spin-off, Big Brother: The Group Chat, airing Sunday to Thursday nights straight after Big Brother, as previously announced.
Earlier on Tuesday, the show shared a teaser clip showing Taber looking emotional while chatting to housemates in the bedroom. Big Brother airs on ITV2 and ITVX.
